Matt Prior (born 24 May 1987) is an Australian professional Rugby League footballer for the St. George Illawarra Dragons of the NRL. He plays primarily in the forwards and has spent his entire professional career to date at the Dragons, with whom he won the 2010 NRL Premiership with. His position of choice is at Second Row but his versatility also allows him to play at Prop and on certain occasions has filled in at Centre hence his nickname Mr. Fix It.

Playing career

Prior started at the Dragons in 2006, making his NRL debut in round 5 of the 2008 season. On the 22nd of March 2010 Prior signed for the Dragons for a further three years which will see him at the St. George Illawarra Dragons until the end of 2013.[2]

He was part of the victorious Dragons team which won the 2010 NRL Grand Final.

On the 13th of January 2011, Prior was named in the "Blues in waiting" squad. A three day camp at Homebush from January 21–23 that will be coordinated by coach Ricky Stuart for players who he believes have potential to feature in future New South Wales Origin teams.[3]
